The rain still teeming down on the west coast of Norway and that could have been a factor, Griffiths just couldn’t turn quickly enough.

Looks like the rain hasn’t affected the pitch too much as Celtic begin with some slick passes, zipping nicely off the wet surface.

John Collins: "Defensively, they are very sound, very compact and they hit you on the break with good pace in wide areas and up front so it has to got to be concentration from first minute to last minute. It would be great to get three points. That is the objective. We will go across here and try to win the game. I've got a feeling this group will go to the last games."

The clubs are meeting for the first time in UEFA competition. Celtic's record in four games against Norwegian teams is W3 D0 L1 (W1 D0 L1 in Norway). That defeat came in the most recent of those games – a 2-0 UEFA Champions League group stage loss at Rosenborg on 23 October 2001.

John Collins (via BBC Sport): "When the draw was made, probably most people didn't expect Molde to be top of the group after two games. I think it has surprised everybody, but they have proved on the European stage that they have got their tactics right and picked up a good victory away in Turkey and a good draw against Ajax."

Molde currently sit proudly atop Group A with four points after their win against Fenerbahce and draw against Ajax under caretaker manager Erling Moe. Celtic sit second after successive 2-2 draws against Ajax and Fenerbahce.

Molde, of course, have a new coach in the form of former Manchester United super sub and ex-Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following the sacking of Tor Ole Skullerud in August.

Celtic are without James Forrest and Charlie Mulgrew for tonight’s important clash. Both are recovering from injuries but midfielder Stefan Johansen does take his place in the starting XI.
