Has this ever happened before: a player on one side named after the manager of the other. Because Giovanni Reyna, son of Claudio, is named after his dad's old pal, Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

Giovanni van Bronkhorst says it's a good test for his side, but that Dortmund have been conceding a lot of goals recently, and his team will need to take their chances.

Pasted though Rangers were by Celtic, they were without Morelos in that one, and though it seems unlikely he'd have made the telling difference, having him back is very helpful. I daresay he'll be wanting to barge down the side of Hummels.

I really like the look of Zagadou, one of the Dortmund's centre-backs. If he stays fit, he can be a serious player.

To get you in the mood, here's something to read on Rangers' march to the 1972 Cup Winners' Cup. It's quite a story, I promise.

It's such a shame this game won't be played in front of a proper crowd. There'll be a few thousand in there, 500 of them travelling fans, and I'm sure they'll do their best - but it won't be the same.

Otherwise, Rangers make two changes from the last game they were worried about losing - they beat Annan in the cup last weekend. Balogun is injured, so Barisic comes in with Bassey moving inside, while Jack is preferred to Kamara.

I was also, I admit, rather looking forward to seeing Amad Diallo; he's on loan to Rangers from Man United and has a lot of talent, but after scoring on an impressive debut he got lost during the Old Firm tousing and is now also on the bench.

There's no Aaron Ramsey for Rangers tonight - well not to begin with. I don't think it'll be long before he's a fixture in midfield, but he begins on the bench.

Not sure how I feel about these yellow numbers.

I am, though, looking forward to seeing Jude Bellingham - as I am before every time I see him play. He has phenomenal potential and he's pretty handy already - I fear he, Dahoud and Witsel may have too much for the Bears.

So there's no Erling Haaland for Dortumund, which I guess will be both disappointment and relief for Rangers. On the one hand, you want to test yourself against the best, and he's very close to that; on the other, he's Erling Haaland.

Let's have some teams...

I've been looking forward to this one: Dortmund will not be pleased to be where they are but will also fancy themselves for a decent dart at the trophy, whereas Rangers will be delighted that they've got to this point so will attack what's a huge opportunity for them. Let's see how we go!
