The 2023-24 UEFA Europa League group stage is upon us, with Rangers in action as they host Real Betis on Matchday One in a Group C encounter, live on TNT Sports.

Rangers were up against Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title last season, and Michael Beale took his team to second place.

The Scottish Premiership side beat Servette in the third qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League earlier in the season, but were knocked out in the play-offs by PSV Eindhoven in a 7-3 aggregate defeat - which resulted in them dropping into the second tier of European competition.

Michael Beale's side will be eager to erase the feelings of disappointment after missing out on Champions League qualification at the final hurdle, and highlighted the importance of another strong run in the Europa League after reaching the 2021-22 final.

"There's a financial element [to doing well] but there's a competitive element as well," said the Rangers boss in his pre-match press conference.

"You're playing against teams with different styles who're obviously successful in their domestic leagues and that challenge helps you domestically because the level is high and you get exposed to things.

"As a club we have a huge tradition in Europe and it's important we have a good season.

"Looking at the level of this group, I think it will go to the fifth and sixth game until it gets concluded."

Sparta Prague and Aris Limassol are the other teams in Group C.

Rangers will host Real Betis at Ibrox on Thursday, September 21.
