An unbelievable performance from Ademola Lookman, who scored an unbelievable hat-trick, and an unbelievable performance from Atalanta saw them end Bayer Leverkusen's tilt at an invincible treble, a 3-0 win sending the Europa League back to Bergamo. 

Gian Piero Gasperini's men dominated from the first whistle and took the lead on 12 minutes, Lookman punching home from 12 yards.

Then, on 26 minutes, Lookman did it again, curling a low finish into the far corner from the edge of the box.

Leverkusen just couldn't get going - weren't allowed to get going - and on 75 minutes, Lokoman hammered home an incredible finish at the end of sharp counter to give Atalanta their first trophy since 1963. 

"One of the best nights of my life," he corrects when asked if this is the best; goodness me, he must've had some fun."Amazing performance from the team, yeah we did it."

Otherwise, he's happy Atalanta won after losing two finals and he'll celebrate that they made history tonight.

Celebrate well!

He didn't come through the system and has played for Charlton, Everton, Leipzig, Fulham, Leicester and now Atalanta; this didn't come easily to him, and he'll have spent time wondering if he'd even have a career or establish himself. But he kept at it, kept believing, and then he found the right man in the right place at the right time. What a story!

In that Atalanta end. This is the genius of Gian Piero Gasperini - what he's done even without tonight is amazing, but how wonderful it is that he's been rewarded - rewarded himself with - tonight.

Atalanta knew it'd take the performance of a lifetime to beat Leverkusen - and well done to them, 51 and out but champions of Germany with the Cup Final to come - and they produced one of the greatest ever seen at this level of the game. If ever you want to see perfection watch that.

Can Leverkusen rescue themselves again?

Can they make it four! The sub crosses, Tah does enough, ands now we have a penalty check at the other end - does Scalvini tug Hlozec after a ball comes over the top? Sort of, but insufficiently.

Lookman, on the touchline and facing towards the crowd, inside his own half, back-flicks through Tapsoba's legs; this is bullying now.

Sings their boys home, Scalvini clearing Hincapie's cross at I type. Every Atalanta player has played an absolute blinder.

A city whose population is around 120,000. That's ridiculous, and what an achievement this is. We said at the top that they have players and a manager who know this opportunity might not come round again, and their younger opposite numbers have been handed the mother and father of all sonnings off.

Hooked by Koopmeiners, and for a second, Toure looks to be away. He's not, but on the touchline, Alonso is now urging his players to keep the discipline because this could stil get silly.

Off go Scamacca and Zappacosta, both of whom have been brilliant; Toure and Hateboer replace them.

Likewise Tella. Wirtz and Frimpong go off, Alonso now thinking about the Cup Final.
