Liverpool 4-0 LASK: UEFA Europa League Group E result as Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo (2) and Mohamed Salah clinch victory at Anfield that sends the Reds into the Last 16

Cody Gakpo scored twice as Liverpool booked their place in the UEFA Europa League Last 16 courtesy of a convincing 4-0 victory over LASK at Anfield.

Jurgen Klopp opted for nine changes from the 1-1 draw at Manchester City at the weekend, but it made little difference as a header from Luis Diaz and a close-range finish from Gakpo put the Merseysiders two up inside 15 minutes.

Mohamed Salah added a third from the penalty spot on 51 minutes and it was rather routine from there with Gakpo putting the icing on the cake with his second of the night in stoppage time.

The result means Liverpool finish top of Group E with a game to spare and qualify for the Last 16 on 12 points. Toulouse are second on eight points with Union Saint-Gilloise third on five and LASK bottom with three.

Liverpool will now conclude their Group E campaign at Union SG on December 14. LASK host Toulouse. 

"It was easy enough for Liverpool tonight. They got the clean sheet and scored a few goals.

"A few Champions League teams will be thanking their lucky stars Liverpool are not in that tournament, they are one of the best. You mention their home form, no one in Europe wants to go to Anfield. They are very difficult to beat even though they played their second string."
