Rennes v Milan live - Europa League knockouts latest as Rennes take the lead for the THIRD time

Tonight marks the end of the Europa League playoffs but there's still plenty of European action to come, including the deciding legs of the Champions League Round of 16 that sees Arsenal and Man City both involved. And of course, there's only one place to watch it...

AC Milan survived three scares to progress to the Europa League Round of 16 in a seesaw 5-3 aggregate victory over Rennes, who kept fighting until the very end in front of a sizzling Roazhon Park.

Rennes triumphed 3-2 on the night but were always up against it after capitulating in spectacular fashion in the first leg at the San Siro, and could never open up the two-goal deficit they needed to get within range of a last-gasp equaliser.

Benjamin Bourigeaud hit a superb hat-trick of two extremely well-taken penalties and a fine opener from outside the box, but Milan stayed in the contest and equalised twice, within 11 and five minutes of the first two goals.

And though Rennes eventually held on to win and at least provide some reward to their home fans, who provided a truly special atmosphere throughout the evening, Milan’s experienced heads prevailed led by a string of important saves from Mike Maignan.

And as Seidu's attempted cross spoon straight out and that will be that for Rennes. Maignan's goal-kick draws the referee's final whistle but the home fans are still singing in defiance, after their players more than did them proud. Milan got the job done though and could face Liverpool, West Ham, Brighton or Rangers in the Round of 16. They'll be a danger to any of them.

Ibrahim Salah made a perfectly-timed run and looked to work back inside, but Rennes can't get on the end of his cross and that needed to go in for them to have a chance at a late late equaliser.

Milan have hemmed Rennes in superbly there, and won a throw-in by the Rennes corner flag. There's six more minutes in this one.

Rennes still need two goals but where there's life there's hope, and they won't die trying. Milan can't get out of their own half and Maignan is forced into another fine save from Salah's snapshot arcing into his bottom-right corner. That means another Rennes corner though...

Pioli's also made his last substitution, Alessandro Florenzi's costly slip gifted Rennes a corner and that will be his last contribution to the game. A nifty training-ground move comes to nothing though and Milan clear, for now.

And after that build-up, the forward is replaced.

The whole team has raised their game, but Amine Gouiri has also been a huge improvement on the left flank after coming off the bench last game. His latest effort is gathered by Maignan but this match is one-way traffic right now - Leao's goal means they're not yet chasing an equaliser though.

Malick Thiaw's still coming back from injury, so it's a hell of a deep end to be thrown into here. He replaces Musah, who's ushered off by the referee.

The crowd clearly feel it's long overdue, but Mike Maignan has been booked.

As the smoke wafts across the pitch, Rennes are close to another. They've managed consecutive corners, in stark contrast to last week their players are doing everything to keep attacks alive.

Jovic couldn't do anything with the free-kick but in attempting to stop him, Terrier's injured himself and will be replaced by Salah. Not that Salah though...

Rennes have taken the lead thrice today but held it for a combined 15 mintues, can they kick on now? Milan will have their first chance to respond as Gouiri brings down Musah,

It's a Europa League hat-trick for Bourigeaud. There was a staredown between taker and keeper but the midfielder sent Maignan the wrong way and buried his own penalty deep in the corner!

Bourigeaud was originally annoyed that he couldn't take the corner quickly, but quietens those protests as he realises VAR is looking at a potential penalty! Kalimuendo's header struck Jovic's arm on its way out, this could well be given... AND IT IS!

Kalimuendo's been so impressive today after an anonymous performance last week, he deserves a goal and nearly got it there, latching onto a deep cross but his header flashes just past the post.

He's only made one start since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, but replaces Pulisic here.
