The referee looks to restart with a hop ball but then changes his mind and blows for time. A draw is probably a fair result but Robbie Keane had two great chances to win it and Russia are the really winners tonight.

The cross comes back out to Whelan who has his shot blocked by Kucka who drops to the ground and needs treatment.

Karhan with a bad tackle on McGeady - he gets a yellow card. One last chance for Ireland to put a ball in the box.

Just as I say that Slovakia have an attack - great defending from St Ledger sees him deal with Oravec after a Stoch cross.

Ireland at least finishing strongly in this see-saw game.

GREAT CHANCE MISSED BY KEANE!!! Low cross from Kilbane….and Keane controls it superbly and drops the shoulder to get past his man but then he fires over the bar with the goal gaping! He did the hard part so well too.

Oravec nearly makes an immediate impact as he puts a looping header just wide of the target.

McGeady skips his man and gets a cross in but Long was offside.

Holosko gets his head on the corner but it then just flashes across the Ireland goal. All Slovakia at the moment though.

A defensive header from O'Shea and a wild shot from Karhan finally sees the danger pass but Slovakia now have another corner.

Jendrisek shoots and it takes a huge deflection off Dunne….luckily it goes wide for a corner.

O'Shea clears a Slovakia corner and Ireland then burst forward…it was four on four but Gibson sees a shot blocked at the key moment.

McGeady burst forward looking to start and Irish counter attack but nothing is sticking with the forwards anymore.
