City starting well on top then here. Mancini trying to encourage his side to maintain this forward momentum. Something suggests they will.

Some early action for Joel as he dives to claw out a volley from Yaya Toure after the Tevez free-kick had hit the wall.

Boyce sends Aguero crashing to the ground and City have a free-kick here 25 yards from goal. Chance early on to make their presence felt.

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez makes two changes from the 3-2 midweek defeat to Swansea City in the Premier League that leaves his side third bottom of the table and facing relegation. Ben Watson and Gary Caldwell are on the bench, but Jordi Gomez and Antolin Alcaraz return from injury to start.

Manchester City have close to a full squad available. Midfielder Yaya Toure is fit after recent concerns about fatigue and playmaker David Silva starts for first time since suffering a hamstring injury at Manchester United a month ago. Back-up goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon, who has played in all the previous rounds drops to the bench. England number one Joe Hart is included from the start in a strong City side.
