That's full time. Pep Guardiola embraces Aguero on the touchline and exchanges some apparently warm words with him. He can be pleased that his team suffered no injuries, and are still on course - theoretically - for three trophies this season.
Silva pulls it back for Iheanacho at the near post, but his shot is blocked for a corner. Then, Clayton has a hack at Silva on the wing as he gets radged off. No card.
- OffSergio AgüeroManchester City
- OnKelechi IheanachoManchester City
Iheanacho is on for Aguero. There will be three minutes of added time.
Traore and Nolito exchange words as Traore goes in late and high - and missing - on Nolito. No Barcelona fraternal love, there.
- OffYaya TouréManchester City
- OnFernandoManchester City
Fernando is on for Toure.
- Yellow cardMarten de RoonMiddlesbrough
De Roon gets a yellow card for tugging back Toure as he bursts past him in midfield.
De Bruyne, with the ball on the right-hand side, aims a pass inside for Nolito at the far post, but it runs just ahead of him.
Sterling goes for glory with a chance, but makes an error of judgement and it's blocked.
City are doing their Yaya and Kolo Toure chant, which is unbearable.
Fabio comes steaming in to aim a header at goal from Traore's cross and it's passed Bravo, with Stones on hand to clear it off the line.
It's not looking good.
Expect City to make more changes if Boro continue to be so relaxed.
Sterling thinks he has a City third. Aguero shoots from distance, bobbling the shot into the 'keeper who spills it. Sterling stabs it home, but he's possibly a fraction offside, and it's disallowed.
Bravo rushses out to meet Ramirez, running towards the ball behind the defence, and hooks the ball out of play.
- OffLeroy SanéManchester City
- OnNolitoManchester City
Sane gets taken off for a break, replaced by Nolito.
- GoalSergio AgüeroManchester City
GOAL! Middlesbrough 0-2 Manchester City. Aguero scores - Sane is found in space by Clichy. He takes a look up, measures a low cross in for Aguero and he has a simple finish to shoot past Guzan.
- OffGrant LeadbitterMiddlesbrough
- OnGastón RamírezMiddlesbrough
Leadbitter, on a yellow, is replaced by Ramirez.
And another Guzan save. Sane aims a curling shot at goal that he beats away for another corner, but it was a nice height, and curling in towards him. Otamendi concedes a foul from the corner.
Silva lines up a shot from the edge of the box and drills a shot at the low far corner, but Guzan pushes it wide for a corner.
City win a corner after Sane prods a Silva pass inside wide via a deflection. Nothing comes of it, and we wait for something to actually happen..
City are almost all in Boro's half, but aren't in a rush to find another. They're patiently keeping the ball.
Half an hour left for Pep's Revolutionaries to beat Aitor Karanka's cloggers.
De Bruyne, Traore and Otamendi conspire to tripe Traore as he bursts through the middle.
Stuani catches Sterling in the moosh with a flailing arm. It didn't look deliberate, and he's not getting a card. Is it mush or moosh? Answers to @lxndrnthrtn.
Sane shoots! Throw in.
The ball rolls out to Zabaleta from the edge of the box, and his shot hits a defender and flies wide of the post - the ref fails to award a corner.
Aguero hits the post. Sterling's pass from the right gives him a great chance, but he finds the base of the woodwork.
- OnDael FryMiddlesbrough
Fry, just 19, replaces Bernado.
Almost an exact replica of Silva's goal. Toure finds an unmarked De Bruyne on the right, his cross is missed by Stering, it comes to Silva, and he takes one touch before firing over.
City idly diddling the ball around the back..
- 2nd Half
We go again.
- End of 1st Half
Traore gets a yellow card after going through the back of Otamendi after losing the ball. It wasn't that nasty, but it was from behind and asking for it. That's half time.
Leadbitter catches Toure late, sending him to the turf, and is lucky to just get a telling off from Dean.
There will be two minutes more of this.
- Yellow cardGrant LeadbitterMiddlesbrough
The free kick comes to nothing for 'Boro. The half seems set to drift out now that De Bruyne is caught late by Leadbitter. Yellow card.
Traore is clattered by Clichy with a sliding tackle as he looked to sprint away from absolutely everyone.
Free kick for City now, as Fabio pulls back City on the right. It'ss a chance for a dangerous cross. Toure meets De Bruyne's cross at the near post, bit it's straight out as it hits his shoulder.
Otamendi comes into the back of Stuani, I think, but the free kick from 25 yards out comes to nothing.
A bit of Boro possession now sees a cross looped in for Stuani to meet, but he glances it to the right of Bravo, who bats it down into the ground and claims.
Another chance now for City.
Silva scoots down the touchline but his cross along the six-yard box drifts to nobody.
Mike Dean is an absolutely world class pointer.
Zabaleta is caught late on the right, but is OK to continue.
Nothing much is happening just now to be honest.
A chance for Boro to hoof in a long free kick from deep.
- OffRudy GestedeMiddlesbrough
- OnÁlvaro NegredoMiddlesbrough
Negredo is on for Gestede.
Gestede is down, receiving treatment, after he pulled up a minute earlier. He seems likely to be replaced by Negredo.
Free kick on the right from De Bruyne, but it's scrambled away. Bravo comes to collect a clearance just over the halfway line.
Corner for Boro on the right. Leadbitter takes, and Bravo is rescued as Zabaleta saves from a Gestede header.
Sane chases a loose ball on the left wing, but even he is unable to catch it.
Toure wins the ball in midfield and starts and attack. It's eventually worked back to the City defence, where they play their way out of pressure.
- Yellow cardAntonio BarragánMiddlesbrough
Barragan gets a yellow for a rather rough challenge on the right wing.
Sane burts down the left at speed, behind the defence and into the box. He could shoot, but plays it to his right for Aguero, and he stretches out in vain as the ball rolls out of play.
De Bruyne goes down as if tripped in the box, but the ref isn't interested. Boro start a rare attack - or moment of possession, at least - and get a roar from the home crowd.
City are in total control now, keeping the ball. Boro are sitting off, making their life easy.
Aguero is still limping from that challenge, so with a goal to the good, Guardiola may decide not to risk antagonising anything.
Traore chases a flick on, but can't manage to produce an end product.
Fabio whips in a cross for Gestede, who nods it down for De Roon, but Bravo is out to claim it. Aguero is caught by Leadbitter in midfield with a late clump. One hardman to another.
Noz makes a banter.
'Boro should have tried marking at least one of the players in that move, but haven't got going yet.
- GoalDavid SilvaManchester City
GOAL! Middlesbrough 0-1 Manchester City. Silva scores - Toure pings a ball to Zabaleta on the right, he plays in a cross to Sterling, who mishits, and Silva stabs it in.
- 1st Half
The match gets started.
The continued defence of Joe Hart is an odd one. He'd been shaky for several seasons and his international performances were often bizarre. Guardiola should be criticised - maybe - for using Bravo for so long instead of Caballero, but not for replacing attempting to raise standards from merely quite good.
Read paper round for Aitor Karanka's appraisa of Pep Guardiola vs Jose Mourinho.
'Boro have Negredo, Valdes and Negredo on the bench, as they keep their Premier League survival as top priority. Nevertheless, it's an otherwise familiar line up. The second best twin ever, Fabio, starts too.
It's a strong City line up, with no obvious weaknesses. Sergio Aguero isn't rested, despite being their most important player with no Gabriel Jesus in reserve. Bravo starts with a chance to repair his reputation.
