The referee brings the game to an end as the corner is swung in. Japan thoroughly deserve their convincing win and have qualified for the quarter-final stage. Mexico aren't out of it yet as a win against New Zealand could see them through.

Iwabuchi finds Kawabuchi in the area but her shot is deflected behind for a corner

Japan keep coming and it's another cross from Kinga, but Santiago claims it

Nagasato should have made it five there. Miyama and Iwabuchi linked up well on the right side and the latter's cross found Nagasato in the middle, she took too many touches though and eventually Santiago closed her out

Cross from Miyama found its way through to the back post and Kumagai had a great chance to make it 5-0 but mishit her effort and the ball somehow stayed out

Utsugai rifles in an effort from the edge of the area and it's deflected behind for a corner

Ocampo tries to add to her collection of screamers but her shot is bravely blocked by Kumagai

Iwabuchi got free on the right side of the area but chose to cross instead of shoot and the chance was wasted

Sameshima puts in another cross from the left but Miyama's header at the back post is over the bar

Robles tries to put in a cross from deep on the right flank but only finds Kaihori

Mexico still probing but Ocampo can't quite get on the end of a chipped through ball, she feels she was being blocked off but the referee isn't interested

The hat-trick hero Sawa is replaced by Rumi Utsugi

Sameshima still looking to push forward from left-back but is eventually blocked off by Garciamendez

Mexico come straight down the other end and chip a ball towards Mayor but her header is tame

GOAL FOR JAPAN!!! It's a hat-trick for the captain Sawa. Brillisnt work from Kinga who played a one-two with Miyama on her way to making the by-line and Sawa made a clever run across goal, Kinga found her and the skipper swept it home.

Final change for Mexico as Teresa Noyola comes on for Veronica Perez

Kinga continues to get forward and puts in another cross from the right, it's too close to Santiago though

Mayor gets another shot in from range but it's straight at Kaihori

Japan seem to have taken their foot off the gas a bit and are giving the ball away far too easily, Kinga the latest culprit
