We have seen some bad tattoos from top footballers of late, and this one from Genoa and Italy striker Alberto Gilardino is right up there.
In a bizarre and confusing choice of inspiration, Gilardino decided to get a picture of children's cartoon star Peppa Pig inked onto his left bicep.
The tattoo is reportedly dedicated to his three girls: Ginevra, Gemma and Giulia.
The reaction on Twitter and social networks was predictably mixed, with many praising the striker for his ingenuity, while others mocked him for having the young children's character inked onto his body.
Of all the possible tattoos to get Alberto Gilardino chose Peppa Pig? Brilliant. He's gone up in my estimation: http://t.co/6SSPjgQNFC— Marcus Christenson (@m_christenson) September 9, 2013
