Gunes to lead FC Seoul

Senol Gunes of Turkey is set to become the new head coach of FC Seoul, the club announced on Tuesday.

The 54-year-old Gunes lead Turkey to a third-placed finish in the 2002 World Cup will take over from Lee Jang-soo whose contract expires this month.

"We decided to appoint him because he is an excellent leader," an FC Seoul spokesman said.

"He can help raise the club's image and help us got top of the K-League."

Gunes will arrive in Korea on January 5th with his assistant coach and will lead the team until 2009.
