Malaga striker Salva Ballesta claims that three clubs want to sign him in January. The former Valencia, Sevilla, Racing, Atletico and Bolton striker joined Malaga last season and has hit eight goals so far in the Segunda Division for the relegated club.
"Over the winter break I have requested to speak to Malaga about by future," he said.
"Deportivo, Villarreal and Panathinaikos are interested in taking me on loan, and although (Pana) is the biggest option I would rather stay in Spain."
Panathinaikos are the only of the three teams still in Europe, having qualified for the knockout phase of the UEFA Cup after winning their group.
The only stumbling block to the deal is, ironically, the reason that Malaga are willing to let the player go; he earns a reported one million euros a year, which would have to be covered until his contract expires in June.
