Arsenal have comfortably progressed to the third round of the Carabao Cup with an emphatic 6-0 victory over a second-string West Bromwich Albion side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s third Arsenal hat-trick and one each for Nicolas Pepe, Bukayo Saka and Alexandre Lacazette hand the Gunners their first win of the season to ease some of the pressure on manager Mikel Arteta.

Saka's cross into the box is punched clear by Palmer.

The stands are emptying. The West Brom fans have understandably seen enough.

Both sides have taken their foot off the gas a bit with this game clearly over as a contest.

Saka is down on the ground after King clatters into him.

West Brom clearly want this game over judging by their body language and who can blame them. Lacazette fires a shot on goal from close range but Palmer makes a good save.

SUB! Martinelli is on for Aubameyang. Aubameyang has been lethal this evening and Arsenal fans will hope he can replicate it in the league.

SAVE! Faal shoots on goal but it takes an almighty deflection off Chambers, but Ramsdale does well to improvise and gets his body in the way of it before gathering up the loose ball.

GOAL!! It's six and it's Lacazette! Holding's long ball finds Pepe before he picks out an onrushing Lacazette who powers his strike home first-time! No signs of rustiness at all from the Frenchman!

OFF THE BAR! This is getting a bit silly now. West Brom have no defenders in sight and Pepe is straight through on goal, but his attemped chipped finish over Palmer comes off the bar!

ANOTHER SUB! It could be more problems for West Brom. Lacazette is coming on now. Xhaka makes way.

SUB! For West Brom, Faal is on for Zohore.

GOAL! Arsenal get their fifth and it's an Aubameyang hat-trick! again on the break, he picks the ball up on the edge of the box before cutting inside and curls a delightful shot into the top corner. It's his third hat-trick for Arsenal!

SUB! Maitland-Niles comes on for Odegaard, who has done well on his second debut.

Saka's low driven corner is cleared behind by Taylor. West Brom continue to play a high defensive line but they are not able to cope with Arsenal's pace.

Ramsdale is back on his feet and looks fine to continue.

SAVE! Gardner-Hickman jinks his way into the box and gets a shot away, but Ramsdale makes a good stop. The following corner sees Ramsdale go down in some pain after he goes to catch the ball. He lands heavily on his right shoulder.
