It wasn't exactly a classic but for a game with no goals and few chances that was strangely entertaining. It was great to see two teams with such energy and intensity go head to head like that. Real Madrid must be pleased with the result but they must be a little fearful of these sides after watching that.

FULL TIME: Atletico Madrid 0-0 Barcelona

Barcelona have one last half chance to win it but the eventual volleyed shot by Xavi is charged down by the Atletico Madrid backline. That could have been heartbreak for the home side.

Atletico win the ball half way up the pitch, much to the crowd's delight, but then Koke turns back when the counter was on and passes back to the keeper, much to the crowd's dismay.

Three minutes of stoppage time to be played at the end of the second half!

There is one winner out of this game if it ends 0-0: Real Madrid. Their players must be watching this and celebrating. If they beat Espanyol tomorrow night the gap will be down to three at the top of La Liga.

Both sides are trying their best to mount one final attack but they're cancelling each other out. I'd love to be proven wrong but I can't see either team finding a winner here. They're so well organised! Both of them!

The home side have looked the part tonight but they'll be disappointed that they haven't been able to find a goal. Turan in particular has been magnificent for Atletico.

Has Roberto been brought on by Martino to settle the game down in the centre of midfield? Is that his way of saying he's quite happy taking a point back to the Camp Nou? Seems like it, anyway.

Atletico Madrid seem to get better as the game progresses as that's been the case tonight as well. Can they create just one more chance to break the deadlock? Or will Barcelona find a goal on the counter attack?

Messi takes control of the ball with little support around him, skips past the tackles of two opposition players, but fires his shot straight at Courtois in the Atletico Madrid goal. I thought that was the moment.

Atletico Madrid have grown in presence in the last 10 or 15 minutes. They are undoubtedly the best team at the moment bu can they make their pressure count? The home crowd are urging them forward.

Turan directs a spectacular volley towards the Barcelona goal but he can't get enough on his shot and Valdes gets down low to make the save. Had he made full connection that could have caused Barca trouble.

Atletico Madrid look like their best chance of finding a goal could come from a set piece, but on this occassion Costa plants his header over the bar.

Costa splits two Barcelona defenders and tries to take down the ball inside the box from a Koke lobbed pass but it's a little too much and Pique eventually clears. He only needed another touch.
