A very impressive display by Barcelona, who rarely needed to get out of second gear tonight, but Sociedad were extremely poor and seemed to lack the desire and attitude needed to compete at the Camp Nou. Neymar was my man of the match.

For all that Sociedad have been extremely poor, Barcelona have been mightily impressive. Neymar is my pick for man of the match. A real statement of intent from the Liga champions.

Pedro and Iniesta combine inside the area but the latter's shot is deflected by Ansotegi and the ball falls kindly to Bravo, who picks it up.

Barca and Sociedad players help Sangalli with his cramp and play gets under way again.

Sangalli finally gets a chance to run into space on the counter attack but he gets an unfortunately timed bout of cramp, seemingly in both legs.

Both teams are going through the motions now. Barca are knocking the ball around the midfield, with Sociedad sitting deeper and deeper.

Pedro tries to find the top corner from 10 yards but the Spanish forward is too precise with his finish and flashes his shot over the bar. Should be 5-1.

With the game won Martino elects to take off the crown jewel. Messi's reaction to the decision is a little blunt. He wants to play every minute!

Cadamuro twists and turns on the right wing and cross the ball to the back post but the header drifts well over the bar.

So with that goal the points look in the bag for Barca (not that that was ever in any genuine doubt). The 100% start to the season survives.

You have to wonder what they teach the centre backs at Barca. How often have we seen Pique make a similar run to the one Bartra just made?

Dani Alves thinks about a shot from the edge of the box, but decides against it and keeps possession for his team. Barca are nullifying this game now.
