Kolo brings down Mandzukic with a hand in the face of the Croatian striker, and the Sevilla defender is very lucky not to be shown a second yellow card by the referee.

Ansaldi smashes a strike towards goal from the left side of the box following a corner kick, but it flashes past the post with speed. Mandzukic is booked for trying to divert it towards the net with his hand.

Good save from Beto! Gabi finds yards of space just inside the box from a corner kick, but his header towards the target is tipped over the bar by the Sevilla goalkeeper. Decent stop.

Koke plays a lovely ball down the right side for Juanfran, who looks for Mandzukic inside the Sevilla penalty area. But Kolo gets there first to clear, although he skews it out for a corner kick.

Indeed, Atletico Madrid have taken a grip of this game in the last few minutes since the opening goal. They're camped deep inside their own half as the home side knock it around with confidence.

Before Koke's opening goal there was an incident between Kolo and Gabi, which saw the Sevilla defender shown a yellow card. He was actually lucky that it wasn't a red. It was an atrocious tackle.

The opening goal has completely unsettled Sevilla. They're now rushing their passes and just look generally flustered whenever they get the ball. And they had started so well, too.

That deflection was huge in taking Koke's strike into the top corner. From the angle behind the shot it might not even have been going on target. Could it even go down as an own goal?

With Mandzukic leading the line and Saul in behind as the number 10 of sorts, Turan is out on the right side and Koke on the left. That's the way Simeone has lined up his team tonight.

It's strangely subdued inside the Vicente Calderon. To be fair to the home supporters there's been very little to cheer about so far. Neither side have really taken a grip of the game.
