Good afternoon and welcome to Eurosport’s LIVE commentary of the La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Eibar. Cristiano Ronaldo WILL feature for the hosts today after the yellow card he picked up during the victory over Vallecano in midweek was rescinded. Great news for the Bernabeu faithful – not so for the visitors. The rest of the team news is coming right up.

It's been an eventful afternoon so far with three goals scored - two for Real, one for Eibar - but only Ronaldo's free-kick allowed to stand. The hosts have had chances to extend their lead and look likely to add to the score-line before half-time.

That was Ronaldo's first goal from a direct free-kick since April 2014.

CHANCE! Ronaldo almost gets his second in as many minutes as he collects a squared pass from Hernandez at the back post but he somehow misses the target.

GOAL! Real Madrid 1-0 Eibar! Third time lucky as the referee lets this one stand! Ronaldo's low shot from a free-kick curls wickedly past the goalkeeper who should have done better to save the effort. He won't care - Real are in front!

CHANCE! Oh, what an opportunity for the hosts. The ball falls to Isco on the edge of the area but his shot strikes not one but TWO posts and the rebound falls kindly to Hernandez who simply taps in but it won't count! The linesman had his flag up for offside.

SAVE! Ramos' header is palmed away from Irureta in quite a stunning save! Real are still searching for the opening goal.

CLOSE! Illarramendi tries an ambitious effort from outside the penalty area but sees his shot go narrowly wide of the post.

Ronaldo gathers the ball on the edge of the Eibar penalty area but he sees his shot deflected. Two consecutive corners come to nothing for the hosts.

GOAL DISALLOWED! Eibar find the net through Fernandez but the referee had already blown for a foul on Navas.

Real Madrid won the reverse fixture earlier this season with a 4-0 victory back in November.

Eibar bring the ball into the Madrid half for the first time and then win a free-kick but the delivery comes to nothing and the hosts are back in possession.

The first opportunity of the match falls to the hosts as Isco picks up the ball and drives at the defence before unleashing a deflected shot at goal. The subsequent corner finds Varane at the near post but he can only head over the crossbar.

KICK-OFF! Real Madrid get us underway.

Real Madrid may have fielded a much changed starting XI but a win is vital today if they are to keep the pressure on Barcelona with just eight league games left to play. Five minutes to kick off.

Real Madrid – currently trailing leaders Barcelona by four points – have lost just one of their last 19 home league games, averaging 3.42 goals per game. Eibar, meanwhile, have not won in six away games, their worst ever top-flight away run.

The visitors must be at their best defensively today – and even then it is unlikely they will stop Real. They are boosted with the return of centre-back Raul Navas though who is back at the heart of the defence after serving a suspension. Eibar moved six points clear of the drop zone on Tuesday night with a 1-0 victory over Malaga but will be keen just to keep the score respectable today.

While Ronaldo had his fifth yellow card overturned, Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez will serve their punishment for collecting booking number five on Wednesday night and miss today’s game. Carlo Ancelotti is also without Gareth Bale who is nursing a muscle strain and the Italian coach has also opted to rest Karim Benzema, Iker Casillas, Dani Carvajal and Pepe ahead of Tuesday’s crunch Champions League match with rivals Atletico. There are starting places for a number of fringe players including Asier Illarramendi, Jese and Javier Hernandez.
