The ball drops invitingly for Saul in the penalty area but it's run out of play. He's appealing for a corner but the referee signals for a goal-kick.

Torres looks to latch onto a through ball but Weligton in Malaga's defence steps up at just the right time to ensure the Spanish forward is flagged offside.

A dangerous low cross is swung into Atletico's penalty area by Recio but Gimenez is in the right place at the right time to clear the danger.

Torres has been hugely impressive in the opening 35 minutes here. A cross comes into the penalty area - he stayed onside - but just couldn't stretch far enough.

Atletico overhit yet another cross and that is four or five times so far this evening.

An early goal would have settled the nerves for Atletico but it doesn't look like it's forthcoming at the moment.

The set-piece comes to nothing. There is quite a bit of pressure on Atletico today, they must win to keep their title hopes alive but that won't come easy against a stubborn Malaga side who have lost just once in their last six games.

Gabi's cross is blocked by the arm of a Malaga defender and Atletico have a free-kick in a great position, on the edge of the penalty area. We know how dangerous Simeone's side are from set-pieces...

YELLOW CARD! Weligton is booked now after being caught in possession by Torres. The Atletico forward was in a great position but the referee brought play back to show the defender a yellow card. Advantage should have been played!

Weligton runs back onto the pitch and is able to help his side successfully defend a corner.

Malaga are temporarily down to 10 men as Weligton goes off the pitch to receive treatment.

YELLOW CARD! Charles is booked for a late tackle and tempers fray for a moment before the referee calms players down on both sides.

PENALTY APPEAL! Malaga send a deep cross into the area and they're appealing for a penalty! It struck Juanfran on the arm but it was accidental. The referee waves play on.

Atletico are seeing plenty of the ball in the visitor's final third at the moment but haven't been able to break the deadlock just yet. Griezmann breaks into the penalty area but his cut back pass aimed at Torres is intercepted by Weligton.

A cross is sent into the hosts' penalty area and Charles does well to get in front of Felipe Luis but his header is straight at Oblak.

Atletico have a free-kick which Koke will take... it's a long way out but he goes for goal and forces Malaga's goalkeeper Ochoa to tip the ball over the bar.

Torres rides a couple of challenges before being hacked down. The former Chelsea and Liverpool striker seems to have got a yard of pace back.
