Real Madrid are certainly having more joy on the counter attack now. And most of that success is coming through Bale, one way or another. The Welsh winger is playing well.

Benzema hasn't done much so far in his role as the central striker in Real Madrid's system, and Zidane takes the chance during a break of play to speak to the French forward.

Bale is being afforded the most freedom of any Real Madrid player at the moment. Maybe it's because Alba is so attacking, but he has lots of space down the right channel.

Real Madrid will need Modric to be in top form if they are to gain any kind of control in this match. The Croatian is the man who makes them tick from his position in the centre of the pitch.

I just get the feeling that Real Madrid are growing in stature with their use of the ball around the midfield, but the danger is that they allow Barcelona space to exploit on the counter attack.

For the first time in the match Real Madrid take the chance to keep hold of the ball and calm down the tempo of the pressure they have faced in the opening half hour. They need more control.

Ronaldo takes the freekick about 20 yards out for a foul by Mascherano on Bale, but he balloons it over the bar. It's about time someone just gave the ball to Bale for these set pieces.
