More concern for the Valencia defence. Messi back heels into Suarez's path but the striker hits his shot straight at the keeper. The flag was up so it wouldn't have counted, but once more the finish wasn't good enough from Barca's point of view.

More magic from Iniesta as the picture in his mind allows him to hook a blind pass over his shoulder into the path of Suarez's run on the left wing. The Uruguayan can't quite get there and some solid defending sees it behind for a goal kick.

Valencia so close to getting in level at the break. They could easily be on the end of a hiding if the MSN had their shooting boots on.

A wonderful defensive touch from Sanchez denies Suarez a tap-in after Alba had looked to have put it on a plate with a low cross inside the six-yard box.

Another opening for Barca. Suarez races into the area from the inside right channel but flashes his shot wide of the far post. The visitors have had a number of very good chances so far but so far the goal-touch has deserted them.

Neymar with a devilish outside of the foot cross to Suarez who has time to set himself but volleys over at the far post.

VALENCIA PENALTY SHOUT. Perez goes down in the area following an arm on his shoulder from Pique as he tried to reach a left-wing cross. He went down a bit theatrically but there's was contact.

If you'd offered Gary Neville 0-0 at the half hour mark before kick off, he'd have taken it.

On another night Barca would be three up.

Another big chance for Barca. Neymar skins Vezo again on the left and rolls it into the path of Messi who takes a touch before prodding it straight at Domenech from six yards out!
