The second half is under way at the Bernabeu! Villarreal hold a surprise 1-0 lead over Real Madrid.

There is a growing sense of frustration around the Bernabeu. The home side have enjoyed the majority of possession, but they are struggling to create much in the final third.

The tempo of this game has slowed down in the last few moments. This will suit Villarreal. They look quite happy just to sit deep and absorb pressure from Real Madrid.

That last opportunity on goal came from even more dirty work from James, this time out on the left wing, winning the ball. The Colombian has been the best player on the pitch so far.

Ronaldo has a header on goal, forcing the diving save from Asenjo, but the Real Madrid number seven was blown up for a foul on Angel. He doesn't agree with the referee's decision.

As much as Real Madrid have undoubtedly been on top in this match, Villarreal still carry a threat of their own and that was illustrated by Cheryshev's chance on goal moments ago.
