That's yet another damaging result for Sevilla. They have now lost third place to Atletico Madrid and Sampaoli must be concerned with the way this season is turning out for his team. They will now surely be focused on keeping their place in the top four and next season's Champions League.

Sevilla simply haven't done enough to claim three points from this match. They have had the better of the play, but how many real chances have they created? Not enough.

SHOT FROM JOVETIC! The former Manchester City striker takes the shot from the edge of the box after a nice one-two, but his side-foot effort flashes wide of Cuellar's post.

It's quite clear that Sporting Gijon are simply holding out, or attempting to, for a point. They are camped inside their own penalty area, repelling everything that comes their way.

The officials have given Sevilla something of a lifeline with the addition of those five minutes of stoppage time. The home fans are urging their team on as they push for a winner.

Time is running out for Sevilla and Sampaoli is pacing up and down the touchline in frustration. His team have once again let him down again. This is their worst spell of the season.

That was easy enough for Cuellar. Jovetic took the shot on from the edge of the opposition penalty area, but there wasn't enough power or direction on it to bother the keeper.

The crosses are being slung into the Sporting Gijon penalty area, with Mariano causing problems in the away team's box. But for the moment, the visitors are holding out.

After a lull in the play Sevilla are now mounting another attack. The home fans are urging them on, but Sporting Gijon are doing a really good job of plugging the gaps at the back.

For all that Sevilla have disappointed with their performance this afternoon, you have to give credit to Sporting Gijon for the way they have played. They have been solid at the back.

There's another yellow card, with Mariano this time entering the book for a late challenge.

Cuellar has probably been the man of the match so far. The goalkeeper has made a number of excellent stops and has controlled the defence in front of him very well too.

Vitolo just couldn't slot the pass through to Iborra. There was just a little too much on the delivery and Cuellar came off his line to claim the ball at the feet of the Sevilla player. He's hurt.

OH DEAR, N'ZONZI! The midfielder creates the wonderful shooting opportunity for himself from a tight angle, but he completely slices his shot and the ball flashes wide of the target.

That last opportunity summed up the way this game has been. There has been a real lack of quality shown by both sides in the final third. A goalless draw is rather apt.

Traore was just inches away from making contact with that! The cross came in from the right as Sporting Gijon mounted a counter attack, but the striker just couldn't get on the end of it.

Why didn't he take the shot on himself? The cross fell at the feet of N'Zonzi inside the area, but bizarrely he decided to turn back and play the ball out wide. Why would he do that?

Sporting Gijon now look quite content with a point. They are six points adrift of safety and need to claw back that difference soon, but a point here would certainly be a point gained.
