In the end, the scoreline somewhat flattered Real Madrid given how hard they had to fight for three points, but they deserve a lot of credit for how they managed to turn this game around. This win puts Real Madrid six points clear at the top of La Liga. Barcelona play later this evening.

While Benzema and Vazquez both deserve credit for the way they took that last opportunity, Herrera might have done better with his save. The Osasuna goalkeeper has been suspect today.

Zidane deserves credit for making that change. The Frenchman is a very good judge of knowing what is required at certain stages of matches. Vazquez has been an upgrade on Bale.

Osasuna gave up the ball cheaply, Benzema then fed it out to Vazquez who was making a late run into the box and the substitute squeezed his finish through Herrera who might have done better.

Vinicius takes the shot from the edge of the box when he probably should have passed to his right where Modric had peeled away from the rest of the Osasuna defensive line.

Another change from Zidane and Isco comes off to be replaced by Vinicius for the last five minutes.

It's worth recapping that a victory for Real Madrid here would see them establish a six-point lead at the top of La Liga with Barcelona away to Real Betis at the Benito Villamarin later tonight.

How is that not a yellow card? Perez lunged in on Vazquez and cleaned out the Real Madrid winger. Yet somehow the referee keeps his cards in his pocket. Bizarre decision there.

The referee's patience with Ramos has worn out and the Real Madrid captain is booked.
