Levante should have scored! That was a golden opportunity for the away side to get back into this one. Morales bursts into the box, his effort is saved by Ter Stegen and Rochina blasts over the bar! What a chance!

That was interesting. A Levante clearance bounced off the referee and straight to Griezmann inside the box. The referee stops the game as is the new rule that was introduced this season.

Messi off the line! Ansu controlled a high ball at the back post and set up Messi. However, Messi didn't quite catch his shot and the clearance was made off the line. Busquets then shoots over the bar.

Of course, as mentioned in the build up to this game, this was a must-win fixture for Barcelona given Real Madrid's derby win over Atletico Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu yesterday.

Ansu had actually been in poor form under Setien, but the teenager has been excellent so far this evening. He has struck up quite the understanding with Messi. Quite the pairing.

A third Barcelona goal would surely see Lopez withdraw some of his most important players with the fixture against Leganes in mind. That's a game Levante would hope to win.

HALF TIME: Barcelona 2-0 Levante. Ansu's brace have put the Catalan side ahead at the half time interval. They have been the better team by quite some distance. Very impressive from the hosts.

Wide from Griezmann! How did he miss? The Frenchman got to the front post to get on the end of the low cross from Semedo, but he sent his shot wide of the target. Golden opportunity.

De Jong has been impressive in this first half for Barcelona. The Dutch midfielder has struggled recently, but Setien has stood by the summer signing and this has been much better.

Lopez has a lot of work on his hands to turn this match around for Levante at the half time interval. His team haven't been able to lay a glove on Barcelona for about 20 minutes now.

That was wasteful from Ansu for once. Messi dropped deep to pick up the ball and drive it forward, he made the pass out to Ansu, but the teenager sent his cross well behind. Whoops.
