Getafe have started this match well. They have Real Madrid pegged back a little bit at the moment. Courtois boots a clearance out of play and the home fans are getting behind their team.

There was an exceptional pass from Casemiro in the opening few minutes of this match. He released Bale in behind, but the Welshman was a little reluctant to pull the trigger on the shot.

Valverde is on the bench for Real Madrid this afternoon. That is somewhat surprising given that Getafe are very combative in the centre of the pitch and Valverde would have helped in that fight.

Header saved! The first opportunity of the match sees Bale flight a long throw into the Getafe box, Benzema gets on the end of it to direct a header towards goal, but Soria makes the comfortable save.
