What a remarkable match. Levante turned this game on its head in the space of just seven second half minutes. Questions will be asked of Valverde and his Barcelona players after this. They got what they deserved in the end. Levante earned the win. They were excellent in the second half.

Should have been four! Levante caught Barcelona high up the pitch, Melero was clean through on goal, but he sends his shot wide of the target when he should have found the back of the net.

Time has all but run out for Barcelona. This will be a damaging defeat and Valverde will face more questions after this. There will be some who call for him to be dismissed.

Chance for Ansu! Messi clipped a ball for the teenager at the back post, but Ansu's header was weak and he sends his effort wide of the near post when he should have tested Aitor.

There will be four minutes of stoppage time played at the end of the match.

The match turned on the exit of Suarez due to injury. At that point Valverde should have introduced Ansu to keep Barcelona on the front foot. Instead, he tried to protect what Barca already had.

This win will take Levante closer to the European places in La Liga. For Barcelona, though, this could drop them down to fifth place in the table if other results go against them.

And now Ansu enters the referee's book. This has been the pattern of Barcelona's play for the final 10 minutes.

Valverde will face criticism for the way he reacted to the injury of Suarez. It was almost as if the Barcelona boss sought to settle for what he had when his team only lead by one goal!

It should be mentioned that both Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid play later this evening. They could pass the Catalans should they claim three points from their respective fixtures.

There's 10 minutes left to play and Barcelona have a two-goal deficit to overturn if they are to salvage this situation. The way they are playing, that doesn't look especially likely.

Many assumed that the early season issues experienced by Barcelona had been put behind them following the return of Messi from injury, but this will raise familiar questions again.
