So much better from Espanyol in their first outing under Abelardo. They deserved to take something from that match. They stuck with Barcelona all the way to the end. The Catalans, however, will reflect on two points dropped. They are only ahead of Real Madrid on goal difference now.

There will surely be one last chance for Espanyol to claim a point from this match? They have shown good ambition in the last few minutes, but they look a pretty weary team at this stage.

That was a good cross from Vargas who was inside the box down the right side, but the defending from Pique was very strong and concedes the corner kick. Espanyol are pressing here.

Are we going to get a grandstand finish here? Valverde is gesturing his players forward. He doesn't want them to sit deep and invite pressure on top of themselves to see this out.

What a run! That was exceptional from Suarez as he ran with the ball at his feet all the way from the halfway line into the Espanyol box, but his shot from a tight angle only finds the side netting.

Barcelona haven't tightened up since the red card and are still pressing. That is making the match a very open affair as we head into the final 10 minutes. Espanyol are well in this.

Big save from Neto! That was a decent opportunity for the Espanyol substitute, but Wu's header was straight at the Barcelona goalkeeper when he should have done a little bit better.

Espanyol made a change just before the red card with Wu coming on for the home team.

It looked like Barcelona might have got themselves out of trouble, that they had the three points in the bag, but this one might not be over just yet. Espanyol still have a chance.

SENT OFF! De Jong pulls back the shirt of Calleri after losing the ball and the Dutch midfielder has been shown a second yellow card. Espanyol have been given a lifeline! Barca are down to 10 men.
