He got the shot away! Marcelo cut inside on to his weaker right foot and unleashed the shot on goal, but Soriano got behind it and made the save to deny the home team a fourth goal.

Of course, Barcelona laid down a marker with a big 5-1 win over Real Valladolid last night to go top of La Liga. Real Madrid are in a good position to follow that precedent here.

Soriano has probably been Leganes' best player in this first half and that probably tells you a lot about how dominant Real Madrid have been. The goalkeeper has been very busy.

What a save! That looked like being a fourth goal for Real Madrid. Benzema played a one-two with Carvajal, the Frenchman then lashed a left-footed strike towards goal, but Soriano made a sensational save to deny him!
