A far from vintage performance from Barcelona, but they did just enough to get over the line and that's all that mattered. Messi came on to a game in the second half and it was his goal that was the difference between the two sides. Levante competed well, but lacked cutting edge in the final third.

Barcelona have been better in this second period. They have been more energetic and have created more than Levante, who have struggled to find traction in the final third.

Pjanic doesn't look too happy in the stands. The Bosnian midfielder recently complained about the lack of game time he has been afforded since making the move to Barcelona in the summer.

The presidential election is the thing that continues to linger in the background for Barcelona. Bartomeu might be gone, but there’s still a lot to be decided. The direction of the club isn’t clear right now.

There is a sense Koeman is a dead man walking as Barcelona boss. The Dutchman is struggling to make the job his own, but he won’t be replaced until there is a new president at the club.
