Real Valladolid are cutting off all service to Barcelona's attackers. Dembele has only seen the ball THREE times in the first 35 minutes of the match! Messi barely had a touch either.

The omens are pretty good for Barcelona this evening. Indeed, they have won 13 of the last 14 games they have played against Real Valladolid in all competitions. Strong favourites, but not panning out that way so far.

PICTURE: Messi has been quiet

Koeman doesn't look too happy on the touchline, and understandably so. Barcelona have been very poor in the first 30 minutes. They have the look of a team playing their first game after the international break.

This has been an impressive opening from Real Valladolid. Barcelona must have thought the visitors to the Camp Nou would sit back and defend, but they have been ambitious.

Mesa with the strike! The ball fell nicely for the Real Valladolid midfielder 20 yards out, but his curling effort flashes over the crossbar. He probably should have struck the target.

Real Valladolid are fighting relegation at the wrong end of the La Liga table right now, but they have drawn their last three games away from home. They could be tricky to play against.

Dangerous cross! Nacho gets down the left side and swings in the ball, but Guardiola couldn't get there in time and ter Stegen comes off his line to gather. That was a half chance!

Koeman always warned that this would be a transitional season for Barcelona and so it has proved, but the way he has brought through a number of youngsters while winning recently has been impressive.

PICTURE: No early breakthrough

After a decent start by Real Valladolid, there is a feeling that Barcelona are beginning to take a grip of this game. They are on the front foot and are looking to create opportunities.

Messi... wide! Barcelona win a freekick in a dangerous position just over 20 yards out from goal, but Messi could only bend his strike wide of the post. Masip wasn't too worried.

Not so long ago, this season looked like being one to forget for Barca. Now, though, they have a Copa del Rey final to look forward to later this month and they’re back in the title picture.

It’s certainly fair to say that Barcelona have built some momentum and improved their form over the last couple months. In fact, they enter this game on the back of a run of 12 wins from their last 13 league games.

This could be a big moment in Barcelona’s season. Atletico Madrid’s defeat to Sevilla last night means Koeman’s side can close the gap on the league leaders to just one point with a win here.

Mingueza header saved! The Barcelona defender made a good run into the box and sent a header towards goal, but the effort was straight at Masip and the goalkeeper saves.
