Xavi will surely be very disappointed with how Barcelona allowed Osasuna to get back into the match so quickly. They were barely ahead for a few minutes. Poor defending.

Well, what a match we have on our hands here. Two goals in the opening 15 minutes. We saw the good of Barcelona in their goal and the bad of Barcelona in the one they conceded.

The marking from the Barcelona defender was slack and Garcia was able to get on the end of the delivery to head past Ter Stegen who might have done better!

That's the perfect start for Barcelona who have struggled for goals recently. The finish from Nico was good, but the ball from Gavi was even better. He put the chance on a plate!

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Osasuna 0 Barcelona 1 (12 mins - Nico Gonzalez). The breakthough has been made and Nico has the ball in the back of the net! Gavi picked out his teammate inside the box, Nico was onside when the ball was played, he controlled and then sent a shot past the goalkeeper. This should stand!

This has been a fairly bright start to the match by Barcelona, although they have yet to create a clear scoring opportunity. Osasuna will have to maintain their shape at the back.

It’s true that Xavi has given Barcelona some structure in terms of the way they play and in the way they can now control matches, but the Catalans are toothless in the final third.

Xavi has suffered a difficult start to life as Barcelona manager. Most concerning is the fact that Barca have scored just four goals in the five matches they have played under their new boss.

That defeat dropped Barcelona into the Europa League. That has widely been seen as a symbol of how far the Catalan club has fallen in recent years. They should be in the Champions League.
