Muller Metz man

Former RC Lens coach Joel Muller is poised to take over from Jean Fernandez at Metz, the Ligue 1 club said on Wednesday. Metz have been managerless since Jean Fernandez was sacked on Tuesday.

"The president and Joel should meet on Wednesday and if they reach an agreement, they will sign a contract...," Patrick Razurel, Metz's sports chief executive, was quoted as saying by sports daily L'Equipe on Wednesday.

"A two-year deal has been offered to him. He will visit us and his arrival should be confirmed," president Carlo Molinari told the newspaper.

Muller, who coached Metz from 1989 to 2000, was sacked by RC Lens in January after a series of poor results.
