Pedretti joins Lyon

France midfielder Benoit Pedretti has joined Olympique Lyon from Ligue 1 rivals Olympique Marseille, the French champions said on Friday. The 24-year-old signed a four-year contract on a seven million euros deal, becomes Lyon's first signing since they wo
"It's fantastic to join a club who are writing French football history," he said. "It's great to be part of that adventure".
Pedretti joined Marseille from Sochaux in July 2004 but struggled to adapt.
"I didn't waste my time at Marseille," he said of his time on the south coast. "I got better as a player and as a person. I also learned how to deal with pressure."
The neat-passing midfielder, often compared to former France captain Didier Deschamps, has won 22 caps and was a member of France's 2003 Confederations Cup-winning team.
Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said on Friday that the club would look for further reinforcements, particularly a top striker.
Aulas said earlier that Lyon had approached Liverpool's Czech striker Milan Baros but Czech media reports say that. Baros has declined the offer.
Lyon are also interested in Nantes midfielder Jeremy Toulalan and Sochaux defender Sylvain Monsoreau, Aulas said.
