Jose Mourinho refused to accept blame for Chelsea’s 3-1 defeat away to Everton despite admitting he was experiencing “the worst results ever in my career”.

Chelsea’s disastrous start to the season continued as Everton outclassed then at Goodison Park thanks to Steven Naismith’s hat-trick.
Mourinho’s side have won just four points out of 15 available, with three defeats and just one win - but he rejected claims his side are not playing well.
He told BT Sport:
The results are too wrong for our quality and our status and the players deserve much more than they are getting. Right now it's easy for everyone to criticise me and the players that everything is wrong, but I completely disagree. I am the champion, the players are the champions. The way we are playing is not as bad as the results suggest because everything is going against us. But I don't blame the players and I don't blame myself. They are the worst results ever in my career but I am comfortable with the situation.

Mourinho also attempted to head off questions about his job security, with Chelsea trailing leaders Manchester City by a huge margin in the Premier League.
I do not think there is a better manager than me to come to Chelsea and to do my job. I am the man for the job. I have done so many good things for Chelsea, but now I am the man with the bad results, but give me the responsibility and I will sort this out.
OUR VIEW: The ‘What Crisis?’ approach is reminiscent of Sir Alex Ferguson’s famous siege mentality at Manchester United. Mourinho does criticise his players, but generally only when results are good. Behind closed doors he must be aghast at his team’s performance level and result – but in public he has little choice but to back his squad.
Is his job under threat? Not because of results alone – or at least, not yet. But if relations with club bosses have become strained over a poor summer’s transfer activity and the ongoing Eva Carneiro/Jon Fearn situation... it’s not inconceivable to imagine the Chelsea boss coming under intense pressure.
