Yup, the replay confirms that Osman's low cross - which Foster had covered - was poked into the bottom left by Johnson. Shocker for the defender.

GOAL EVERTON! Cahill is claiming it but that looked like a Johnson-Foster OG concoction to me...

Bowyer appears from nowhere to get into the box but Distin slides in. A goal kick is signalled, looked like a corner to me.

Promising stuff from Everton, who keep it on the ground as Baines puts in a dangerous low cross that Johnson hooks behind for a corner. Baines's corner is easy for Foster.
50'
Coleman on the right drills a low centre to Yakubu, it's just behind him so he lays it off for OSMAN but his shot is blocked and Birmingham clear.
49'
Howard claims a typically aimless long ball through the middle.
48'
The Swede sends it too close to Howard, who punches away. Now Distin is accused of a handball outside the box from a Johnson header on the right but he had his arms by his side.

An early corner for Birmingham on the left, which Larsson is over to take...

The second half is underway.

Both sides mustered six efforts apiece, four off target and two on. I'd say only one apiece were worth noting.

There were boos from both sets of fans at the break, and who can blame them after that tripe?

Promising counter for Everton as Cahill finds Osman on the left, he plays it inside back to Cahill but the return ball is horrible and out for a goal kick. Half-time, goalless and it has not been the best half of football.
45'
Yakubu holds the ball up on the right, winning a throw off Gardner. Osman has it now but sends his cross-shot yards high and wide.
44'
A bit of head tennis as both sides fail to keep the ball on the ground for a minute or so. This has not been the greatest advertisement for the Premier League so far.
43'
Johnson and Yakubu clash, with the Nigerian penalised to a little tread on the Englishman's ankle.
42'
Birmingham have a goal kick after Baines's cross fails to stay in play. Foster hits it long.
40'
Carr on the attack now, decent dipping centre from the Irishman but Jerome's header is well over.
39'
Distin and Jerome have a little set-to but the Everton defender clears.
38'
Everton bombarding Birmingham's area now but obviously they are well organised and tough to get behind.
37'
Everton play it around nicely until Osman fouls Carr.
36'
Jerome almost nicks the ball away from Distin, who stays calm and plays it wide to Jags. Baines now on the left but Johnson heads clear.
