Stoke are looking to win back-to-back PL matches for the third time this season and the first since November 2010, but their hosts have no win in their last seven PL matches - their only victory in the last 14 PL was 3-1 at home against Tottenham in February.

Stoke have won five of their 13 PL matches against North-west clubs this season (6 defeats). They have conceded 13 goals in these 13 matches – only Chelsea (8), Manchester City (10) and Arsenal (12) have conceded more goals against these sides this season.

Stoke will be without influential winger Matthew Etherington for the trip to Bloomfield Road after he tore a hamstring in the midweek win over Wolves. Dean Whitehead, who replaced Etherington against Wolves, will hope to be given the chance to stake his claim for a cup final spot while John Carew could be given his first start in almost two months.
14:15
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway should have a virtually full squad to choose from for this clash - Striker James Beattie is the only real doubt - he has been feeling unwell but trained on Thursday; while Holloway expects Stephen Crainey to be available despite the defender sustaining a toe problem.
