Sprinklers are still on at Goodison Park - will it give the pitch a little extra zip? It's a pleasant April afternoon, both sides have a chance to play some open, passing football.

Infostrada stat: On this day in 2007, Everton also played Aston Villa. They drew 1-1 at Villa Park with Gabriel Agbonlahor equalising after Joleon Lescott had given Everton the lead. Would either side be happy with a draw today?

All finished at Upton Park - and the Hammers have let a 2-0 lead slip against the league leaders. More news of that one

Everton could leapfrog Bolton into seventh place today if results go their way, while victory for Villa could put them as high as twelfth in the table.

INJURIES: Everton have the bigger injury problems. It looks as if Louis Saha will miss the rest of the season, while Mikel Arteta (hamstring) and Marouane Fellaini (ankle) are also sidelined. Villa have had to wait to see how Kyle Walker's hip has recovered since he missed the England games, while Ciaran Clark is serving a two-game suspension.

The pressure all on Aston Villa, then - but at least they can point to a good record against their opponents - Everton have won none of the last nine Premier League games against Aston Villa.
14:05
Everton have been making some positive progress up the table in recent weeks, and David Moyes' men look set to end the season in the comfort of mid-table. The same cannot be said for Aston Villa, however - despite the denials, it seems that all is not well at Villa Park, where Gerard Houllier's sside are only a single point clear of the relegation zone.
