There's the final whistle. A comfortable win for West Ham in the end. Stoke offered very little in attack, and in fairness were outplayed and outfought all over the pitch. They could now find themselves being drawn into a real relegation battle, while West Ham move out of the bottom three.

Wilson looks for Jones in the box with a high cross, but Green comes off his line to claim comfortably.

Da Costa fouls Jones on the halfway line and Stoke come forward, though Walter loses his footing in the area and West Ham break quickly.

The Hammers win themselves a corner now. Hitzlsperger delivers, Tomkins heads goalwards, and Begovic makes a routine save.

West Ham are content to keep possession now. Tomkins had the opportunity to cross there, but opted to force the throw-in off Pugh.

Obinna replaces Cole as the clock ticks down.

Fuller chases his cross into the box, it comes back to him off Parker, and he drives a rasping shot just round the far post!!! So, so close!!!

Noble finds Parker, he pulls it back, Piquionne's goalbound shot is blocked, the rebound falls for Hitzlsperger and he smashes it home in trademark fashion!!!! Game, set and match.

Goalscorer Demba Ba goes off to a standing ovation as Gary O'Neil replaces him.

Tomkins brings the ball inside and lays it on beautifully for Cole...WHO SIDEFOOTS THE BALL MILLIMETRES WIDE OF THE FAR POST!!! That was very close indeed.

A moment of panic in the West Ham defence as Whitehead's cross isn't properly cleared, though Noble finally manages to hoist the ball up towards the halfway line. It just isn't breaking for Stoke this afternoon.

Piquionne forces a corner off Pugh to keep the pressure up on Stoke. Hitzlsperger swings the ball in, Tomking wins the header at the back post, but can't get any purchase on it.

Fine play from Parker to bring it forward to West Ham, and sloppy play from Stoke sees them concede possession no sooner than they had finally dispossessed the West Ham captain.

Cole is two yards offside as he sprints onto Noble's ball in behind the Stoke back four.

Etherington, Whelan and Wilson are all over the ball. Wilson hits it, but the wall does its job.

Upson gives away a sily free-kick under pressure from Jones on the edge of his own area. Good opportunity for Stoke here.

Piquionne loses possession all too easily in the corner, allowing Stoke off the hook, then Huth turns and gives the linesman an earful of abuse for not giving a throw-in earlier. To be fair to the official, there was no way the whole ball was over the line.
