Wolves respond well. They win a corner, but Stephen Hunt's inviting delivery fails to find a target and Wigan are able to clear their lines.

Bright start from Wigan - they are moving the ball around well. Ronnie Stam swings in a cross from the right and James MacArthur gets his head to the ball deep in the box, but doesn't get sufficient power behind it. He was unmarked aswell.

A couple of Wigan players are sporting those infamous 'snoods'... perhaps they can be justified on such a cold day like today?!

Both sets of players now make their way out onto the bitterly cold Molineux pitch

Additonal notes on the teams... Wolves are unchanged from the side that started the game against Birmingham two weeks ago, while Wigan recall Charles N'Zogbia and James McArthur to their starting XI. Gary Caldwell also plays, with his brother Steven switching to the bench.
14:50
And, of course, there is plenty at stake today as this match sees the two sides who are currently occupying the bottom two positions in the league table going head-to-head;

Wigan, meanwhile, generally fare well on Boxing Day. Roberto Martinez's men have won three of their past five fixtures on this day but, despite recent good results against Wolves, go into this game without a win in their last four league games or, for that matter, their last seven league away matches; amassing just 13 goals in total for the current season.
14:40
At the moment, Wolves' survival hopes appear to be coming through their home form - they have claimed 14 of their total 15 points at Molineux and victory today against Wigan would see them claim three successive home victories (after beating Sunderland and Birmingham) for the first time in their Premier League history, having not achieved such a feat since 1980.
14:35
Wigan, meanwhile, are without suspended duo Maynor Figueroa and Hendry Thomas. Tom Cleverley is fit to play having recovered from bruised ribs - which is an important inclusion for the Latics, as the on-loan midfielder is the only Wigan player to have scored in the club's last four Premier League matches.
14:30
Wolves are without striker Kevin Doyle, who is nursing a thigh injury, while defender Steven Mouyokolo misses out because of a back complaint. Christophe Berra is fit to start, but Matt Jarvis and David Jones have to be content with places on the Wolves bench after all three recovered from injury. Karl Henry is still a few weeks away from a comeback. Stephen Hunt, who has scored in each of Wolves' last two Premier League victories, will patrol the midfield.

Today's game sees Mick McCathy's Wolves bidding to achieve a third successive home victory. However, they come up against a Wigan side who have won three of their last four against the Molineux club, and who are also looking to complete a league double over Wolves for the first time in the Latics' history.
