Nasri, Mancini scoop award

Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri and Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini picked up the Barclays Player and Manager of the Month awards for December.

Highlights of Nasri's month included a brace against Fulham and an instrumental role in his side's victory over Chelsea.

The Frenchman has been a fixture of the Arsenal team this season, and already has nine goals to his name in the current Premier League campaign.

Mancini oversaw a strong December showing from Manchester City as they kept the pressure on league leaders Manchester United in the title race.

City won four of their five matches in during the month, and finished the year with an emphatic 4-0 home victory over Aston Villa.

It is the first time that Mancini has won the award since he arrived in the Premier League just over a year ago.
