Can Rooney make a game of this... ROOF OF THE NET! 3-1! Is the comeback on?

Giggs wide to Evra, who is taken down by Sturridge and United have their penalty - a bit late now though!
55'
Torres almost gets in behind the defence but Rafael intercepts. United chasing shadows now.
54'
Luiz with a backpass to Cech who clears well - Valencia gives away a free-kick on halfway.

It's getting a bit snowy at Stamford Bridge now. United look shell-shocked but that third goal was all about the poor marking - half-zonal, half-man.
51'
Evra let Luiz get away from him and Ferdinand couldn't get there in time. That's his first league goal of the season. Somehow United are 3-0 down but credit to Chelsea for the way they started the half.

Mata to curl it in with his tasty left foot... AND LUIZ HEADS IT IN! 3-0! Poor marking but a terrific header.

Evra, who is not having one of his better games, is booked for leaving Sturridge in a heap. At least he didn't get past him.

A great cross from Torres - too much space for him on the right, but a super flighted ball - but what a finish from Mata. Reminds me of a goal Gareth Bale scored a year or so ago.
47'
Giggs and Young get their wires crosses but Evans covers for a throw.

GOAL CHELSEA! Torres crosses to Mata and a fine volley from the fellow Spaniard at the far post flies past De Gea and in!

@JooManGroup: "chels is playing better than they have all season, i think all the drama over Webbs supposed bias did cost us a penalty "; david: "As a neutral, the worst person on the pitch is the ref. Webb is having a mare, giving free kicks that aren't and not giving free kicks that are, and for both teams. Must have been bought by City lol.";

@JM_Villanueva14: "Boswingwa is a Portuguese version of De Gea. Always waiting for a mistake to happen"; @bendavies_beast: "classic chelsea, winning with an own goal, have to say though, cech is really performing today"; @ibrahims52 "this game is like "the tale of the 2 flawed spaniards" they get more attention than the other 20 on the pitch"

What did you think of that half? Should United have been given a free-kick or penalty for Cahill's tackle on Welbeck, and should Cahill have seen red? Or did he get the ball? Are Chelsea playing well and worth the lead or is the lucky break just that? Is Fernando Torres a ninja? Tell me on Twitter @Reda_Eurosport

Taken short, Young wriggles away and crosses but headed wide by Welbeck and it's half-time: Chelsea lead 1-0.

Giggs short to ROONEY WHO BLASTS IT LOW and tipped wide by Cech! Corner at the end...

Giggs will play this in. Taken short and he runs with it, tripped by Mata and another free-kick on the left, closer in this time.

Two minutes added being played. United still dominating and Ivanovic fouls Young late - Rooney is furious as he wanted advantage, Ivanovic is booked anyway.

Ivanovic got his foot on the ball but also caught Evra. Taken short, inside to Giggs and wide to Rafael, now Valencia wide right, inside to Carrick breaking forward but hooked clear by Bosingwa.

Rooney keeps the ball in down the right but he's all alone. Chelsea can break down the other flank but Giggs brings it clear. Evra bundles forward, going down under pressure from Essien and Ivanovic - belatedly Webb gives a free-kick.
