Today's referee is Jonathan Moss. The West Yorkshire official is taking charge of his first Premier League game of the season, and and only his third ever in the top flight.
14:50
Midfielder Sandro also returns to the Spurs starting line-up in the Premier League for the first time this season. He is currently sporting a mohawk hairdo with the shaven sides died blue. Awful, truly awful. Still, it seems to be popular with one Spurs fan, who has donned a wig made up to look like the Brazilian's unique hairstyle.

Head-to-head: Wigan were unbeaten against Tottenham last season - winning 1-0 at White Hart Lane and drawing 0-0 at home. A marked improvement on the season before, when Spurs beat the Latics 3-0 in Wigan and 9-1 at White Hart Lane, when Jermain Defoe scored five times. Still not good enough for him to get in the team today, though, as the returning Rafal van der Vaart plays in behind Adebayor.
14:40
Harry Redknapp has been delighted with the start that Emmanuel Adebayor has made to his Tottenham career and has backed the striker to fire the club back in to the Champions League: "If he has a great season he can take us to where we want to be. He is a really good player. There is no doubting his ability and Jermain Defoe has linked up well with him."
14:35
Rafael van der Vaart and Sandro both start for Spurs. William Gallas and Aaron Lennon are absent due to respective calf and groin injuries. Benoit Assou-Ekotto has recovered from a throat infection. Roman Pavlyuchenko and Niko Kranjcar have not travelled to the north west because of hamstring injuries.
14:30
Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega misses out and could be sidelined for a month after injuring his knee last weekend. Defender Emmerson Boyce was absent for the defeat at Everton with a hamstring problem and remains out, while Antolin Alcaraz (thigh) are still not fully fit. Steven Gohouri has recovered from a calf injury though and starts.

The Latics go into this match with five points from as many games. They are unbeaten at home following a draw with Norwich and a win over QPR, but Tottenham should prove a much stiffer test. Spurs, on six points, can move into the top half of the table with vicotry here after back-to-back wins away to Wolves and at home to Liverpool.
