Good effort from Tevez, who sidesteps Heitinga and smashes a diagonal 25-yarder just wide!

Coleman skins Kolarov and crosses low from the right for Anichebe, who turns but gets underneath the ball and smashes his shot over.

Seamus Coleman crosses from the right to Fellaini, who tries to head across goal for Anichebe but Toure gets the ball away.

Mirallas leaves Milner for dead and comes into the box... he goes down!! Was he tripped or did he lose his footing? Lee Probert decides the latter.

Big penalty appeal from Everton as the corner comes in and Fellaini goes to ground under the attention of Nastasic. Nothing doing, says Lee Probert.

Another yellow, this time to Edin Dzeko for jumping with slightly-too-pointy elbows.

Oh, what a wonderful goal that is from Leon Osman. Rivelino-esque. Outside of the left foot, started in the middle of the goal before swerving into the top left corner. No chance Hart. Astonishing goal.

Another free-kick, this time for a Kolo Toure trip on Anichebe. Baines, Pienaar and Osman discuss who will whip this one into the box.

Fellaini meets the resultant free-kick with a downward header which is straight at Hart.

Now Kolarov hauls Osman over, and this is going to be another yellow card. A bit of naughtiness from both sides.

Referee Lee Probert needs to keep a lid on this game - it's all getting a bit petulant.

More needle as Dzeko leaves Distin in a heap in the box as they challenge for an aerial ball - they were involved in that incident earlier on, so there may have been a spot of revenge there.

Yellow card for Steven Pienaar who slides through Gareth Barry. Bad foul, he can have no complaints. Everton wanted a free-kick for a Barry challenge moments earlier, but still - definite booking for Pienaar.

Mucha called into action again! Another fairly routine save, however, as he catches a Dzeko strike from the edge of the box.

City are starting to come into this game after a hesitant start. Kolarov finds Dzeko with his back to goal; he swivels and fires a left-foot shot that Mucha holds.

Tevez has space to get a shot away at the edge of the box. Plenty of power but straight at Mucha who makes a decent catch.

Silva delivers an inswinging cross into the Everton box which is easily claimed by Mucha.

Everton continue to press down the left... Osman's attempted cross is blocked as the visitors stay resolute.

The last time he refereed Man City and they lost was a 2-0 PL defeat at Portsmouth in February 2009. Vincent Kompany and Pablo Zabaleta are the only two City players to play that day still with the club.
