City are able to take the free kick short and play out the final minute of the game with ease.

Dzeko goes down on the edge of the Wigan box, and it's McManaman who holds his head in dismay.

Tevez holds the ball up in the corner as City look to play out time now.

Wigan left it late against QPR in their last league match, but they can find no way through so far this evening.

Wigan are boxed into their half right now, and Martinez is waving them forward.

What a strike from Tevez, whose shot arrowed into the top corner superbly, leaving Joel with no chance.

GOAL! It's a cracking goal as Carlos Tevez jinks inside two challenges and slams an emphatic shot into the top corner of the Wigan goal, and he gives City the lead seven minutes from time! Wigan have to respond and quickly.

City are beginning to come back into their own, and Wigan are suddenly defending very deep.

Toure drills a wild shot well wide, and a sigh goes up around the ground.

Hart releases Milner down the right as City look to launch a quick break, but Nasri sees a shot blocked away by Gomez.

Boyce makes a sturdy challenge on the edge of the visitors' box to stop Dzeko in his tracks, and the pace of the game is much quicker in the second half.

Tevez is furious with the referee as he feels he is illegally crowded out inside the Wigan box, but the referee sees nothing wrong with Wigan's defending.

McManaman jinks inside from the right and gets a shot away, but it's a tame one and Hart can gather comfortably.

Kompany again has to cover as Milner loses the ball to Kone, and he's furious with some of his team-mates.
