Shot from Eriksen touched away by Marshall. May have been sneaking in and the keeper couldn’t take and risk. Eriksen takes the corner and Marshall claims well.

A magnificent run by Walker and it’s a fantastic challenge by Turner in the box to stretch a leg out.

Good cross in from Naughton and Eriksen can’t quite direct the header past Marshall.

After all that pressure, Spurs almost scored on the break. Cardiff must be careful as this side is full of quality.

It’s been a frantic opening from Cardiff and Spurs have barely settled. Walker finds Soldado and it’s an excellent save from Marshall.

That could easily have been curtains for Lloris if he had been adjudged to handle outside the box.

Walker receives yellow for a challenge on Whittingham. Lloris looks lucky to get away with that.

Campbell is through one on one and tries to round Lloris. Lloris saves but was that challenge outside the box? Terrible error from Naughton to give it to Campbell.

Campbell furious at being flagged offside but the linesman probably had it right.

Fantastic crossfield pass from Naughton and moments later he has a shot that sails over. Eriksen had made a good run but wasn’t seen.

Campbell thinks he’s done well enough to win a throw but it’s given as a Spurs goal kick.

Terrific start from Cardiff. They win a throw down the right. Full of confidence after that result against Manchester City.

Referee Mark Clattenburg blows the whistle to get us underway here. Tottenham looked great against Tromso on Thursday so it will be interesting to see how Cardiff cope.

The players he already had were a good top-six team, but I think they have strength in depth with the players they have brought in. Some of those players I covet. Spurs' agenda this year, I am sure, is to be a Champions League team. They may have a big fixture list, but they also have a big squad full of quality."
