Gus Poyet said he is delighted he has a full squad to choose from: "When I signed my contract here, there was a question mark about (Steven Fletcher) to be fit or not in the next few weeks, and then he has played every game for me. We are trying to make sure that we use him as much as we can, but at the same time, we keep him fit so we don't lose him for a while."

Steve Bruce said today’s opponents will be buoyed by their win last weekend: “If you're going to win one you get a win against Newcastle and it gets you off to the right footing. It's more like three or four months, even three or four weeks sometimes.”
