Low ball from Martin, but it's cleared by Davies, and Snodgrass pulls a shot just wide of the near post.

Rosenior has a chance, another for Hull. The ball is curled into the back post, and he shins a volley with his right foot into the crowd.

Van Wolfswinkel has a little space on the edge of the box, he tries the shot but it's deflected out for a corner. Snodgrass swings it in and Jelavic clears.

Norwich now come into the match, but don't find any openings yet.

Jelavic almost scores. Rosenior finds Koren, who pulls the ball back from the byline, and from just six yards out he hits the post.

We've kicked off! I have to say that's taken me by surprise. I had no indication a game was going on. Hull are playing the ball around the defence.

Prediction time: Norwich City 5023 - Hull Tigers 0. What do you think?

Both teams have January signings in their side today. Hull, as mentioned, have Jelavic from Everton, but Norwich have also strengthened after getting hold of Jonas Gutierrez, a team-mate of Lionel messi, from Newcastle United. Both teams will be aiming to bring in a couple more players as they try to stabilise their position in the Premier League.

Steve Bruce sounding off about financial prudence at football clubs is a remarkable and enjoyable thing to read, but it's worth noting that Hull now have new signing Jelavic up front. There's no reason to think he might not score one goal, maybe more, this calendar year.

Steve Bruce: "I have in 15 years, always treated any club I work for, as if it was my money and I think of the actual prices we have paid, both are real value for money. Of course, the numbers have add-ons but actual fees paid are the same or they are a margin apart. I believe at this particular moment for a 26 and 28-year-old is a fantastic piece of business, otherwise I would not have done it.”

Hughton is there with his traditionally inspirational manner. There's nothing like bland comments and general acknowledgement of sentiment to get the crowd going wild and inspire devotion.
14:25
Chris Hughton: "The supporters show the passions of their club. We have the same passions here and I am desperate as a manager to make sure we keep making progress. We certainly understand and respect the opinions of the supporters. It is their club and one thing I can guarantee is that we are working as hard as we can to be looking upwards."
