Spurs are doing all the pressing here

Well this game has sprung into life...

Paulinho could have two! He's just scored one and comes close to doubling Spurs' lead but his angled shot is well goes just wide.

Spurs take the lead! They work the ball on the edge of the box and Paulinho bursts into the area. His first shot is blocked by Guzan but he mops up the rebound, stroking the ball into the empty net.

Villa fans partially redeem themselves in my eyes with a chorus of 'Is this a library?'

Another chance for Harry Kane! Again it's Adebayor who provides the cross - this time it's a low one and Kane's close-range shot is somethered by Friedel.
8'
Kane nutmegs Leandro Bacuna, shouts "megs!" (hopefully), then gets bundled to the floor. Free kick Spurs.
7'
Villa launch into a rendition of the excruciatingly dull chant in which they shout Villa, Villa, Villa (up the octave) followed by Villa, Villa, Villa (down the octave).

As I say that Spurs begin to turn the screw. Adebayor chips a cross in but Kane's header is weak and straight into the arms of Guzan.

It's not pretty so far. Not sure either side has kept the ball for longer than 15 seconds
3'
Gabriel Agbonlahor makes a good run. Paul Lambert will be happy to have him back in the team.
2'
Early danger as Harry Kane slips in Emmanuel Adebayor but Brad Guzan is alive to the danger.

We're off! Spurs in white, Villa in claret and blue

The teams are out and we're almost ready. How do you see this one going? Let me know you're predictions via Twitter @paddyfletch. I'm going with 2-0 Spurs and a goal in each half.
14:50
This could be the final game of Tim Sherwood's unhappy reign. He says he's felt like a supply teacher and is unlikely to be back next term. He's often said there's no bigger Spurs fan than himself so can he bequeath them Europa League qualification?
14:45
Villa could finish as high as 12th or as low as 17th, but will be keen to get this disappointing season over with. It hasn't been fun, it hasn't been pretty, and there may well be speculation over manager Paul Lambert's position once it's all over.
14:40
So, it's the final day of the season and if you thought there wasn't anything to play for away from the Etihad and Anfield, then you're sorely mistaken. Two words: Europa League. Spurs can clinch a place in next season's competition with a point here. Don't laugh, it DOES matter.
14:30
Villa have injury issues of their own, with Christian Benteke, Charles N'Zogbia and Mark Albrighton among their absentees. There is encouragement, though, in the form of Gabriel Agbonlahor, who returns to lead the line. Leandro Bacuna comes in for Ciaran Clark and there is another start for young Jordan Bowery.
14:25
Spurs are forced into a couple of changes to the team that lost to West Ham last time out. Vlad Chiriches comes in at centre back for the suspended Younes Kaboul, while Aaron Lennon's absence means Sandro comes into the midfield. Yes, a rare appearance for Sandro under Tim Sherwood.
