Spurs have the ball back in defence now, and almost lose it with Mason's ambition.

Rose tries to get to the ball but Chambers drags him down. Chambers is awarded the foul, and the free kick is punched away by Lloris.

Lamela comes in late on Gibbs on the halfway line, and Arsenal win the ball back with the free kick.

Spurs play the ball back to Lloris, and they keep the ball in their own half under little pressure.

Welbeck's tough tackle finds Wilshere, who lays the ball off to Ramsey, and his shot is straight at the keeper from a tight angle.

Arsenal take their time now on the ball. A high ball into the box is headed back to the keeper.

Spurs are happy to keep possession in defence, and are more comfortable on the ball than they were last season.

Vertonghen clears on the left hand side, and Arsenal win the ball back as the game gets under way.

Spurs still look flimsy without Bale in their starting line-up, and against Arsenal they should lose because they have worse players, but there's something about that Arsenal defence that just looks absolutely ready to make more mistakes.

Mauricio Pochettino: "We are ambitious. We (the new coaching team) arrived three months ago and we need to make our way but we are focused on the game and know the history. But it is also important to write the history, starting now. This is a big game, a tough game, I know. It is always an important game. We need to prepare for the game, to have a good performance and be aggressive. We need to play the game when the referee starts the game and not before. We need to play 90 minutes aggressively and stay focused on our job."

It's too early in the season to judge a team but Tottenham have introduced less new players than they did last year and they can only benefit from that stability - and they have a quality manager as he showed at Southampton. Over the years Tottenham have always had a good team and for us to be on top of them means we can fight for the top of the league."
